What is spiritual direction?
With one ear tuned to God and the other to you, spiritual direction is a time for deep conversation, listening, and prayer as we attend to the presence and activity of God in your life.
These meetings can be done in person or virtually, and each appointment usually lasts about one hour. We typically meet together once a month, but that can vary depending on your needs.
"Spiritual Direction is help given by one believer to another that enables the latter to pay attention to God’s personal communication to him or her, to respond to this personally communicating God, to grow in intimacy with this God, and to live out the consequences of the relationship."
— Barry & Connolly, The Practice of Spiritual Direction
What do we talk about?
Spiritual Direction aims to bring all the areas of our lives before God, believing that God is present in every vocational question, relational struggle, emotional stirring, physical pain, and spiritual journey. Spiritual Direction gently draws our attention to God's loving presence as we invite the Holy Spirit to be our true Director.
Spiritual Direction is for everyone, no matter how far along they perceive themselves on their journey with God. We can all use another listening ear, a soul companion who listens with the intent of pointing out the signs of God on the horizon of our lives.
"God is the deepest dimension in all the areas of human life, and thus all areas are open to spiritual direction. The purpose of direction will be to sensitize people further to the presence and action of God in their lives, and to assist them to make a fuller and more appropriate response to it. The objectives are that simple: awareness, response."

Our spiritual directors.
LifePoint Resources is a community of people helping people on the transformational journey of being with Jesus and becoming people of love. We partner with independent spiritual directors who are committed to providing soul care for everyone within a supportive environment.
Our dedicated team of spiritual directors have all earned certificates through various spiritual direction training programs and are members of ESDA (Christ-Centered Spiritual Directors). Each director engages in ongoing supervision, continuing education, and community engagement for the dual purposes of support and growth.
While LifePoint suggests a fee for service based on a sliding scale, each independent director on our soul care team exercises personal discretion in their direction practice, including how much they charge and how they receive payment. LifePoint Resources does not handle payments or receive a percentage of fees collected from our partner directors.
If you would like more information on spiritual direction, we’re happy to provide a free consultation to discuss the details and help you consider next steps.

In 2017, Christie received a master’s degree from Denver Seminary in Christian Formation and Soul Care. Since then she has spiritually directed missionaries—both on and off the field—as she has also served overseas, and has mentored other girls in the U.S.
Christie is a member of ESDA (Christ-centered Spiritual Directors). In addition to providing spiritual direction, Christie works as the Communication and Media Specialist for Youth For Christ in the Denver area.
As Christie had a traumatic brain injury in 2007 and has had to live with the aftereffects (therapy, seizures, surgeries, etc.), she has a heart to support those who are suffering—and not just physically, but in all areas of life.
Christie prays that she might have the same mindset as Paul in Romans 5:3-5: “We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”

Spiritual Director and Coach
David holds a certificate in Spiritual Direction from Sustainable Faith's School of Spiritual Direction and is an Elder at Wonderful Mercy church in Gilbert, Arizona, where he is part of the preaching rotation. After a long career training, facilitating, and coaching in the technology sector, David is now focused on spiritual formation and direction. He is a member of ESDA (Christ-centered Spiritual Directors) and the Spiritual Formation Society of Arizona. David and his wife of 40 years live in Chandler, Arizona. They have three grown children and two grandchildren.
David is called to help people know and experience the love of the Father and discern his presence and invitation in their lives. We often hide ourselves from ourselves and from God. Uncovering who we are created to be and our identities as beloved children, we are freed and empowered; the way to the Father's heart opens to us. David has taken that journey and is honored to be able to help others find their way.

Janine appreciates the depth and individualization each person brings to this world. She is interested in walking with you, as your own individual, seeking the Trinity as our guide as we explore your relationship with Jesus. Janine is passionate about life and experiencing God through different lenses. She also loves sipping her morning cup ‘o joe, noticing every shade of orange in every single thing, and making a piece of art from scraps, paint, or cut-outs so she can have a symbolic piece to hold. The slow expansive heart is what Janine offers to you. As we sit together, listening for the holy spirit’s invitations, to consider the paradoxes and contradictions of our lives (the both/and of life), we welcome transformation and a growing awareness of God.
After over 30 years in education with a focus on behavior management and social/emotional development plus living in Mozambique, Africa, Janine has found the heart of people to be calling and aching for care and love just like her own heart. This awareness brought her to take a deep look at the second half of her life and what God was calling her to do. She had to face her own pride and how it got in the way of ministry when she was single on the mission field. Taking this deep look and listening to her internal stirrings, led her to the Soul Care Institute. Janine was committed to doing the work for her own spiritual transformation and learning the tools to provide soul care for others. She then completed training as a spiritual director at Denver Seminary. Janine’s deepest desire is for you to know that you are seen, chosen, and the beloved. She welcomes you on this journey with her. Peace be with you today.

What people are saying.
"I have found my times in spiritual direction to be moments that I find quite valuable. My director often provides me with questions and considerations that allow me to process and grow in my real time journey with Jesus which consequently reestablishes the importance of this primary relationship. I’m given a safe space to realign and assess and take moments even to wait—a practice that I was not naturally given to, but have found to be so worthwhile."
